Resident Mural Project featured in The VA Gazette

Berkeley Oaks was featured in The Virginia Gazette this weekend, showcasing the latest pilot program, a mural project for residents and staff. As part of Valeo, Latin for to thrive, the Create and Compose program, of which the mural project is a part, capitalizes on the therapeutic benefits that art and music offer. Residents, their families, and Berkeley Oaks staff joined artist and project leader, Colleen Koziara, to paint imagery based on one of Colonial Williamsburg’s tulip gardens. Memory Care Mural – Snug Harbor Botanical Garden

This past weekend, residents of The Brielle at Seaview’s Memory Care community took part in a new pilot program, where art and nature came together under one roof! Residents participated as a new wall mural was created of Snug Harbor Botanical Garden, a beautiful Staten Island landmark. The mural project is part of the Valeo Program, a proprietary wellness philosophy of Solvere Senior Living, The Brielle’s management firm. To help meet growing demand, Princeton-based Solvere Senior Living is developing its first community, the Homestead at Hamilton in Mercer County. A study by the company shows the area is home to an expanding number of seniors, with about two-thirds of the population estimated to be above age 60 by 2020.
